Speedbinders Torque Drive Load Binder Operator Instructions

Speedbinders Torque Drive Load Binders are designed to quickly bind your loads and reduce injuries. Read and follow these instructions in their entirety before use to get the most efficiency from your Torque Drive Binders.

Tensioning a Torque Drive Load Binder

• Gather your Torque Drive Binders and a quality drill with a 14 mm socket attached.
• Ensure your binder threaded rod posts are extended. To extend:
• Bind one of your hooks into a stake pocket, onto chain or by some other means to prevent it from free spinning.
• Set your drill’s gear to the highest speed.
• Connect the drill’s socket to the Torque drive binder’s hex bolt.
• Hold the unbound hook.
• Reverse the drill while connected to the torque drive binder to extend the hooks.
• Attach the binders to the load chain, stake pockets, equipment, etc. as you would with traditional ratchet binders.
• Ensure the lever arm is in contact with a solid object either on the trailer or equipment such as the trailer deck, tires, tracks, buckets, blades, etc.
• Begin tensioning the Torque Drive Binder. To tighten:
• Set your drill’s gear to the highest speed.
• Connect the drill’s socket to the Torque drive binder’s hex bolt.
• Set the drill to forward, pull the trigger to start removing the slack from the binder assembly.
• Set the drill’s gear to the lowest speed once you experience resistance and continue tightening until you feel the tension on the chain approaching your desired tension.
• Once you near the adequate tension, begin releasing trigger slowly to reduce the drill’s speed.
• While holding the drill with two hands, complete tightening the binder until you achieve adequate tension.
• Check all your binders’ tension and retighten before hauling your load.
• Store your drill, and drive safely.

Releasing a Torque Drive Load Binder

• Gather your quality drill with a 14 mm socket attached and set your drill to the lowest/slowest gear.
• Connect the drill’s socket to the Torque drive binder’s hex bolt.
• Reverse the drill while connected to the torque drive binder to extend the hooks.
• Once the tension has reduced, set the drill’s gears to high speed to quickly release the load binder.
• Storing the binders with the post’s threaded rods full retracted will prevent road grime from getting on the threads. To prep the binder for storage:
• After tension has been released, disconnect either end of the binder from the load chain, equipment, trailer, etc.
• Ensure one of your hooks are bound into a stake pocket, onto chain or by some other means to prevent it from free spinning.
• Connect the drill’s socket to the Torque drive binder’s hex bolt.
• Hold the unbound hook.
• Set the drill to forward while connected to the torque drive binder to retract the hooks.
• Repeat this process on all the Torque Drive Load Binders.

Pro Tips:

• Use a quality drill and attach the support handle if it comes equipped with one to counter the rotational forces or “kickback” from the high torque drill.
