Customer Questions & Answers

  • 1/4" strand. 500' are there any special shipping requirements? Can this be shipped to a residence?

All orders are shipped to any US or Canada address via UPS or LTL Freight. 1/4" X 500', 7x19, Galvanized Cable Reel will ship UPS.

  • Can I get 100 ft 3/8 steel cable on a wood spool

Sorry, the 3/8" cable in 100-ft lenght is not avaiable on a spool.

  • I like to use this for railing cable, what size do you recommend? 1/8"? do you also have the other accessories to make the railing systems?

We recommend 1/8 or 3/16, 1x19 Stainless Steel cable for cable railing. We can certainly assist your further, but we must take appointments for these consultations. You can do that here: https://e-rigging.com/pages/book-appointment

  • Is it possible to buy just the plastic spool? I need it on a boat to wind a long (600ft) rope onto (the volume of the rope is +- 3000 cu inches when wound).

Sorry, we do not have spools to sell.

  • I'm hanging lights for a wedding. longest run will be about 100ft. what is the best size wire to use?

1/8" would probably hold up just fine.  You will want a tensioner on either side of the cable if you have nothing supporting it throughout the 100'.  If possible I would put as many posts as possible to support the cable.  You can get away without most likely, but the weight of the lights is going to cause the cable to sag over that distance.

  • If I have a 12x12 wrestling ring how many feet of cable and what size cable would I need to wrap around the wrestling ring and make it tight?

I would recommend at minimum a 3/8" cable and you will need roughly 150' of cable, maybe slightly more.  If you would like to discuss this project further, we have some specialists who would be happy to help answer any questions and they usually end up getting formal quotes for their consultations.

  • Can you put a thimble and eye on a ordered cable?

Unfortunately, we are not able to fabricate cable slings or add thimble eyes to cable.  We can only provide the fittings and cable you will need.

  • Quarter inch 5000 foot rolls I would need eight of them give me a quote

In order to do a quote we typically ask that you book an appointment with one of our specialists.  The link to the online scheduling portal is here: Book Appointment
