I will never use a standard ring ding again on any of my one design racing sailboats. These are easy on, easy off.

I am partial to these cotter rings. I like them because I don't need tools to use them and they can be reused or taken off easily. They hold well. The only limitation of them is using them on large diameter pins where the curvature of the ring will not let it go through the cotter pin hole. It would be great to see E-rigging carry a line of stainless safety pins of different size wire for this purpose.
